After almost 52,000 miles, little suzy has finally developed a problem. I was off work today, so I thought I'd clean her up after riding through a few rain storms in the past couple of weeks. I warmed her up (went to gas it up for tomorrow) and then used gunk on the engine and hosed down the engine. After cleaning I rode around the block a couple of times and then finished drying her off. While wheeling her back into the garage, I notice a clicking sound coming from the front drive pulley. The bike seems to roll ok and I rode it around the block again just to make sure. I rode ok as far as I could tell but the clicking sound did not go away and is defintely noticeable with the engine not running. It was fine before the cleaning. I normally never use a high pressure hose on the bike, but I was in a hurry. Are there bearings behind the pulley nut? Did I accidently degrease them with engine cleaner? Help! I don't want to ride to work tomorrow and have the pulley lock up on me. My neighbor (a biker) says it might just be a little dirt in the pully bearing (he's a diesel mechanic and wasn't even sure if the drive pulley had bearings at all, but I looked at the clymer and it appears there are bearings in there though it does not mention them specifically. Can you be of any help WD? Thanks in advance.
